Terrence Murphy Signs a 5-year Contract
Wide receiver Terrence Murphy's contract reportedly includes a 1.5 million dollar signing bonus. It's good to see the kid signed his deal in time for the full-squad workouts. This will help with his development, which was off to a good start already.
This group, along with running back, represents our deepest and most talented position on the team and Terrence Murphy offers what could potentially be a huge addition to that talent level. The battle between Murphy and Antonio Chapman for the number four receiver should be an interesting one. Last year, Chapman demonstrated the work ethic that allowed him to make the most of his opportunities while earning Brett Favre's trust (not an easy thing to do as an undersized, fourth-receiver). Murphy, on the other hand, offers better physical attributes than Chapman. Plus, the rookie showed great maturity in his approach to learning his profession in the minicamps and OTA's.
