Greenwich Packers ready for NFL Europe

When does NFL Europe start anyway? Can we still get in?

Greenwich Packers has a nice ring to it. Ron Wolf laid it on the line when he stated that the Packers are "playing with guys who are NFL Europe-caliber. It just doesn't work."

No kidding.

And I thought we were doing so well.

If it's not one thing, it's something entirely different

The Packers continued their knack for finding a way to turn a great effort into a sour defeat. You name it, we did it yesterday. The Packers combined the art of being flagged for penalties that stalled drives or kept the opposition's drives going along with a propensity to give up turnovers (that lead to 17 Steelers points).

Plus, we added the latest wrinkle...the turnover that turns into a turnover of our own, returned for a touchdown.

The Packers wasted another turnover (that's like the third TO already this year), when Steelers safety Troy Polamalu returned a Brett Favre fumble for a touchdown. The Packers, who were squandering an opportunity for a touchdown with two false start penalties, still had a certain field goal before the gaffe.

It's encouraging to see the Packers playing hard, though. I believe that's a testament to the players' character and our coaching effectiveness.
